Product Review Manufacture: Aggressive Nature
Aggressive Nature was of the opinion the for some scenario events an effective means to disable mobile armor or fortified bunkers was in order. The Design and Development Team (me) was tasked with building a shoulder mount rocket launcher. Above is the current offering. The AT-4 HEAT is constructed from 2 inch Schedule 40 PVC for all areas except the black pipe 90degree elbows connecting the pressure chamber and the launch tube. Not wanting to use the normal ball valve assemble as the trigger device I researched the pressure ratings of common lawn/garden irrigation valves. These valves are rated at 150psi and operate on @24volts. Since the max pressure I wanted to uses in the launcher was @100psi, it fit in the specs. There are 3 - 9 volt transistor batteries (18 volts) in the battery compartment between the pressure chamber and the launch tube. A safety ON/OFF switch is also mounted in the battery compartment. All external wiring in housed in heat shrink tubing. The battery compartment is attached to the launch tube with worm gear hose clamps using and aluminum rail glued to the housing. A screw-in cover allows access to change batteries. Due to the fact that I replaced the stock A5 trigger assembly on my A5, I did not want the A5 trigger to go to waste. I installed a micro switch from RadioShack so that the stock trigger lever would contact the switch. If necessary I can remove the micro switch and re-install the trigger assembly back on the A5. The trigger assemble is un-modified other wise. Pressurizing the AT-4 is accomplished by means of 12 gram CO2 cartridges. Pressure in the pressure chamber is 75psi.. The 12 gram cartridge assembly is attached by means of an x7 Grip ASA adapter (since my x7 has an air-thru commando stock, I used the ASA adapter here). A remote air system can be used in place of the 12 grams for more pressure if needed. There is a 115psi safety valve on the launcher. Test firings of the AT-4 HEAT have reported measured distanced of 200 feet using standard Vortex Nerf Rockets. We also have F-69 PB in tip rockets.
